Formed through the efforts of Partick Thistle, the Scottish Federation was formed after
a meeting at Meadowside Park in Glasgow in July
1898. Designed to give regular matches to the reserve teams of Partick Thistle, Clyde, Linthouse
and St Mirren, it also featured the first XIs of Beith, Cameronians, Cartvale, Cameronians, Dykehead, Kilbarchan and Neilston. The three Dunbartonshire clubs, Dumbarton,
Renton and Vale of Leven, were also invited but declined to join. The competition was wound up
after one season. |
